About

Marina was fortunate to grow up in the very beautiful and cultural city, St. Petersburg. Her passion to art established the years of classical Russian training that she received at the St. Petersburg Art School.  Furthermore, visiting the world famous museums such as Hermitage and Russian museum attached her deeper to the art.

Since that time, Marina has been impressed by the French and Russian impressionism. The paintings of such artists as Mone, Levitan and Repin greatly influenced her interpretation of Nature.

In 2000 She immigrated to Canada, and like many artists who immigrated to Canada, she has been drawn to the raw beauty of local landscapes, which became her main subject.

The love to nature she expressed by spontaneous brush-strokes and rich bold colors. She strongly believes that the art surrounding us has a great influence on our spirit, makes us smile and cheer up. In the work, Marina tries to achieve the balance between classical realism and abstract shapes.

Marina is taking different workshops to further explore the oil painting technique with different Art Studios and actively participating in shows throughout the province. She is selling her work privately and publicly including a select number of commissioned paintings.
